Artículo 1: Definición de la Carrera
-Tierra Viva Expedition Race es una carrera de expedición 100% non stop, sin asistencia en la que los equipos formados por cuatro personas deberán recorrer una distancia aproximada de 450km, en un tiempo máximo de seis días, a través de montañas, valles, lagos y ríos, manteniéndose siempre juntos y guiándose por instrucciones, cartas topográficas y brújula. Para completar el recorrido los equipos deberán hacer trekking, Mountain Bike y Kayak doble y pasar por una serie de PC´s . Los Equipos no tendrán asistentes y deberán dejar en el Campamento Central antes de la largada una carpa armada y todo su equipamiento de recambio y la comida para toda la carrera. El primer equipo en cruzar la meta será el ganador de la carrera.

Artículo 2: Formato de la Carrera
- La carrera tendrá un recorrido de 450 km.
- Habrá un Campamento Central.
- En el Camp Central los equipos deberán dejar una carpa armada con todo su equipamiento y comida.
- En la carpa podrán tener bolsas de dormir extras a las que llevaran en la mochila.
- Durante la carrera los equipos pasaran al menos cuatro o cinco veces por el Camp Central donde podrán auto asistirse.
- El único lugar donde se encontraran con su equipamiento será el Camp Central.
- Durante el recorrido deberán pasar por varios Puestos de Control donde no tendrán asistencia.
-Habrá varios Puestos de Control Virtuales
-Se les entregarán varias Cartas Topográficas color pero sin los PC marcados ni los senderos marcados.
-Para ubicar los PC´s dentro del mapa los equipos deberán leer las instrucciones y descifrar las pistas que se darán en ellas.
- La carrera será 100% non stop y habrá mucha orientación.
-Los equipos deberán llevar el equipamiento obligatorio durante la carrera (ver Equipamiento Obligatorio en la web)
-Una vez largada la carrera los equipos no podrán recibir asistencia organizada durante la misma.
-Durante la carrera los equipos podrán comprar comida en las poblaciones de la región.
-No habrá Stop Obligatorio que cumplir por lo tanto cada equipo deberá administrar sus descansos.
-No habrá zonas oscuras, es decir se podrá avanzar de día y de noche en cualquier disciplina.

Artículo 3: Reglas Generales (no cumplir estas reglas implica Descalificación)
- Los Equipos deberán mantenerse siempre juntos como un bloque de cuatro personas.
- Está prohibido el uso de GPS
- Deberán seguir las instrucciones de carrera obligatoriamente.
- Deberán pasar por todos los Puestos de Control en forma cronológica.
- Para demostrar el paso por los PC Virtuales los equipos deberán sacarse una foto digital junto al PCV y luego mostrarla en el PC siguiente. (un intergrante debe sacar la foto a los otros tres)
- No podrán recibir asistencia.
- Deberán llevar el equipamiento obligatorio para cada disciplina.
- Deberán cuidar el medio ambiente y no dejar basura a su paso.
- No podrán usar medios de transporte no autorizados.
- Podrán comprar alimentos a los pobladores por donde pasará el recorrido.
- Si un miembro del equipo abandona la carrera todo el equipo estará descalificado.
- La radio será usada solo para casos de emergencia y rescates.

Artículo 4: Chequeo de Equipamiento
- Se hará un chequeo de equipamiento antes de la largada donde se rechazarán (y deberán reemplazar) todos aquellos elementos que no cumplan con las condiciones que figuran en el listado de Equipamiento Obligatorio.
-Durante la carrera se harán chequeos de equipamiento obligatorio sorpresa.

Artículo 5: Instrucciones de Carrera.
Habrá diferentes puestos de control obligatorio:
- Camp (Campamento Central)
- PC (Puesto de Control que aparecerá en Internet y es atendido por una persona)
-CPO (Control de Paso Obligatorio que es atendido por una persona)
- PCV (PC Virtual, no habrá ninguna persona. Aquí el equipo deberá sacarse una foto para demostrar su paso)
-Las Instrucciones de carrera y los mapas serán entregados la noche previa a la largada.
-En las Instrucciones de Carrera la palabra “deberán” significa que la acción es obligatoria.
-En las Instrucciones de Carrera se darán pistas claves para encontrar los PC, CPO y PCV.
-Ejemplo de como deberán ubicar los PC´s y las sendas: “Al Norte del Lago Traful hay una cadena montañosa que corre de Este a Oeste. Ubicar en el mapa 4 la tercera cumbre mas alta, allí se encuentra el PCV 7. Para acceder a éste PCV deben cruzar desde el PC6  el lago Traful en Kayak y buscar la senda que sube por la margen derecha del Arroyo Huitrinco” 
-A cada Equipo se le entregará un Pasaporte de Carrera que deberá presentar en cada PC o CPO.

Artículo 6: Tiempo de carrera/ Tiempos Limites
- La Organización controlará el tiempo oficial de la carrera. Este será un tiempo real, es decir el reloj de carrera se pondrá en marcha en la largada y se detendrá cuando el último equipo cruce la línea de llegada.
- Los equipos pueden ser penalizados o recargados con tiempo, estos tiempos deberán ser cumplidos en los PC que el Director de la Carrera disponga. Esto es así para mantener a los equipos en sus posiciones reales.
- Habrá Tiempos Límites para registrarse en determinados PC o CPO que figurarán en las Instrucciones de Carrera. Si algún equipo no alcanza a registrarse por algunos de esos puestos antes del tiempo límite será descalificado y no podrá continuar en carrera.

Articulo 7: Categorías

• Equipos Mixtos (de cuatro personas)
• Equipos Caballeros (de cuatro personas)

Artículo 8: Clasificación
-Habrá una Clasificación General y a la vez se Clasificará por categoría.
-Se entregarán premios especiales a los tres primeros de la Clasificación General, a los tres primeros de  cada categoría y medallas finishers a todos los que crucen la meta.

Artículo 9: Inscripciones
El equipo podrá inscribirse a través de la página web
-Valor de la inscripción:
- u$d 1200 el equipo

Equipos Extranjeros -opcional:
Adicional Kayak doble provisto por la organización: u$d200 por Kayak  (incluye remos, salvavidas y cubrecckpit)

Artículo 10: Responsabilidades individuales
-Cada uno de los integrantes del equipo es responsable de su propio desempeño en la carrera.
-Él o Ella juzgarán, por si mismo, si deben y/o pueden seguir o no en la carrera. Excepto si el Médico Oficial y/o el Director de la Carrera decidan excluirlo de la misma por razones de salud.
-Cada uno de los integrantes del equipo deberá firmar obligatoriamente un Formulario donde asume que está físicamente apto para participar en la carrera, y que renuncia a todo tipo de acción legal en contra de la organización por cualquier circunstancia o motivo.
-Cada uno de los integrantes del equipo deberá estar capacitado y preparado para remar en Kayak dobles en lagos o ríos, de noche y de día cubriendo distancias superiores a los 100 Km.
-Cada uno de los integrantes del equipo deberá estar capacitado para caminar más de 100 Km de día y de noche, en la montaña, alcanzando cotas de 2500m, cruzando arroyos y ríos, atravesando bosques y selva y por lugares donde no hay senderos.
-Cada uno de los integrantes del equipo deberá estar capacitado para recorrer más de 250 Km en Bicicleta de montaña, de día y de noche por senderos de fuertes pendientes y por caminos casi intransitables.
-Al menos un integrante del Equipo deberán tener conocimientos de navegación terrestre y orientarse con el simple manejo de la brújula.

Artículo 14: Emergencias
- En caso de emergencia los equipos deberán hacer uso de la radio VHF, con la que deberán tratar de comunicarse con la Organización para informar de su situación.
- Por tratarse de una carrera de expedición los equipos que se extravíen, o abandonen o algún integrante sufra alguna lesión menor deberán auto-rescatarse o auto-evacuarse.
- Solo en caso de extrema emergencia la organización enviará un grupo de búsqueda y rescate.
-El uso de la radio significa la descalificación del equipo a no ser que la usen con el fin de prestar ayuda a otro equipo.
- Todo equipo deberá prestar ayuda obligatoriamente a otro equipo que la necesite.
- Si un miembro del equipo abandona la competencia el equipo completo será descalificado.

Article 1: Definition of the race
-Tierra Viva Expedition Race is 100 % non stop, without assistance in which teams of four members must traverse an approximate 450 km during six days across mountains, valleys, lakes and rivers of Cordillera de los Andes, Patagonia Argentina, maintaining always together and guided by instructions, maps and compass.
-To complete the course teams shall make trekking, Mountain Bike and double Kayak.
-Teams shall make their own tent (for 4 members) in the Central Camp beofre the race with their equipment and food for all the race. In the tent teams can have all necessary for rest.  
-The first team to cross the finish line will be the winner of the race.

Article 2: Race Format
- The race will take a course of 450 km.
- There will be a unique Central Camp.
- In the Central Camp Teams must install their own tent with all their equipment, food and extra sleeping bags.
- During the race Teams will pass at least three times for the Central Camp.
- The Central Camp will be the unique place where teams find their equipment and food.
- During the race Teams  must go through several control points (passport control)
- The race will be 100 % non stop
- Teams shall bear the equipment required during the race (see equipment required on the web)
- Once the race start, teams may not receive assistance organized and should auto – assist in the Central Camp.
- During the race teams may buy food in the populations of the region.
- The night before the start teams will receive a set of maps and instructions.
- Teams must navigate to find the Control Points.
- Not to be mandatory stop, therefore meet each team must manage their breaks.
- There will be no dark zones. Day and night may be progress in any discipline.

 Article 3: General rules (not comply with these rules implies disqualification):
-Teams must be kept always together.
-This banned the use of GPS
- Must follow the instructions.
-Must pass through all the control points in chronological form.
-To demonstrate the passage through the Virtual PC teams must take a digital photo beside the PCV and then display it in the next Control Point. (an members of the team should draw the picture the other three)
-Not eligible to receive assistance.
-Must be mandatory for each discipline carry the specific equipment.
-Must care for the environment and not to leave spam in its wake.
-They may not use unauthorized means of transport.
-May buy food from residents through which passes the course.
-If one team member leaves the race team will be disqualified.
-The radio will be used only to emergency and rescue.

 Article 4: Checkout equipment
- Teams will check equipment before of the start where are rejected (and must replace) all those elements which do not meet the conditions contained in the list of equipment required.
-During the race will be made mandatory equipment checks surprise.

 Article 5: Race instructions.
-There will be different compulsory checkpoints:
- Camp (Central Camp)
- PC (post control that appears on the Internet and is served by a person)
- CPO (step required that is served by a person control. Not appears on the Internet)
- PCV (Virtual PC, no person who works and must mark your step)
-Race instructions and maps will be given one day prior to the start overnight.
-In the Race instructions the word “shall” means that action is required.
-In the Race instructions will be key clues to find, PC`s, CPO`s and PCV`s.
– Example of Instructions: “At the North of Traful Lake there is a mountain range that runs from East to West. Locate on map 4 third Summit more high, there is the PCV 7. To access to PCV7 teams must cross Traful Lake from PC6 in kayak and find the path that goes up on the right bank of the Huitrinco river”

Article 6: Time Race / times limited
- The Organization will control the race official time. This will be a real time. The clock race will be launched in the start and stops when the last team crossed the finish line.
-Teams may be penalized or reloaded with time, these times must be met on the PC that the Director of the race available.  This is done to keep teams in their actual positions.
-Will have time limits to log on to specific PC or PCO indicating in the Race instructions. If a Team fails to register some of these PC before the time limit will be disqualified and cannot continue in the race.  

 Article 7: Categories
- Four members mixed Team
- Four members men Team

 Article 8: Classification
-There will be a general calcification and at the same time be classified by category.
-Special trophys are delivered to the top of the race and each category and all finishers medals which cross the finish line.  

 Article 9: Registration – Entry Fee
- Four members Team u$d 1200

 Additional for International Teams:
Double kayak provided by the Organization: u$d 200 (with life jacket, spraydeck and paddles)
This is optional and each team can rent their own kayak whit others rental kayaks in Argentina.

 Article 10: Individual responsibilities
-Each team members is responsible for its own performance in the race.
-He or she will judge, if must and/or can continue or not in the race. Except if official medical and/or race Director decide to exclude it from the same for health reasons.
-Each team members shall compulsorily sign a form where assumes this physically suitable to participate in the race, and disclaims all kinds of legal action against the organization by any circumstances or reason.
-Each team members must be trained and prepared to paddle in kayak doubles Lakes and rivers, night and day covering distances up to the 100 km.
- Each team members must be able to walk over 100 km day and night, in the mountains, reaching 2500m dimensions, crossing streams and rivers, through forests and places where there are no trails.
-Each team members must be able to travel more than 250 km of mountain, day and night bike trails steep slopes and almost impassable roads.
-At least one member of the team must land navigation skills and guide with simple handling the compass.  

Article 14: Emergency
- In case of emergency teams must make use of the radio VHF, you must try to communicate with the Organization to report their situation.
-For being adventure race teams that are loosed or any Member suffer some minor injury should auto – rescue is or auto – evacuate it.
-Just in case of extreme emergency organization sends a group of search and rescue.
 -The use of radio means the downgrading of the race unless you use of helping another team.
-All team must necessarily assist to another team that you need.
-If a team member leaves the competition all equipment will be disqualified.
